Après un bref résumé de la santé mentale depuis l’époque pré-colombienne jusqu’au début du XXe siècle, on envisage les complexes rapports entre la psychiatrie et la psychanalyse qui coïncident avec les fréquentes contradictions sur le plan social, politique et économique. Ce complexe rapport a persisté au cours de nombreuses décades jusqu’à nos jours avec différentes caractéristiques.

On the Relationship between Psychiatry and Psychoanalysis in Argentina. After a brief account of mental health from the pre-Columbian period to the beginning of the twentieth century, this article looks at the complex relationship through the years between psychiatry and psychoanalysis and the links between this and frequent contradictions in the social, political and economic fields that still persist today.
