| 520 | _aThe aim of this article is to show that the fight against a totalitarian world needs not only an idea of education which preserves, as Hannah Arendt defends, the revolutionary possibilities of the young generations, but also through the idea of an anti-egoistical education centered on the common world rather than on the individual. I intend to show the theoretical foundations of such an anti-egoistical education using the educational thought of Hannah Arendt and different philosophers of education she inspired (notably Gert Biesta), but mainly by contrasting Arendt’s thought with the educational theories of Walter Benjamin : I then propose to conceive Arendt’s education as an anti-egoistic force against present and future totalitarianism, and Benjamin’s education as an anti-egoistic force against past totalitarianism, both tasks equally essential for human emancipation. | ||
