| 520 | _aCet article examine au moyen de l’enquête Trajectoires et Origines (TeO) la relation entre le sentiment d’être français et le sentiment d’être vu comme un Français. Il met en lumière leur décalage et la façon dont l’origine, le mode d’acquisition de la nationalité et le temps passé en France influencent cette relation. Pour les populations d’origine européenne, le sentiment d’appartenance, au départ plus faible, semble ainsi se renforcer avec le temps et évoluer conjointement avec le sentiment d’acceptation. Au contraire, pour les populations originaires d’Afrique et d’Asie du Sud‑Est, les résultats mettent en lumière le décalage entre sentiment d’appartenance et sentiment d’acceptation, ces populations se sentant ainsi toujours plus françaises qu’elles ne se sentent vues comme françaises. Ce décalage persiste avec l’acquisition de la nationalité ainsi que chez les secondes générations. | ||
| 520 | _aFeeling French and feeling being seen as French The relations between two dimensions of national belonging In this article I investigate the relation between the feeling of being French and the feeling of being considered as French. I shed light on the gap between these two feelings and how this gap varies with origin, how people acquire nationality, and the time they have lived in France. For the population of European ancestry, the feeling of belonging, while weaker at the beginning, gets stronger with time and is correlated with the feeling of being accepted. On the contrary, for people of African and Southeastern Asian ancestry, the results shed light on the gap between the two feelings: The feeling of being French is always stronger than the feeling of being accepted. This gap persists with the acquisition of nationality as well as among the second generation of immigrants. | ||
