520			_aSi l’Église catholique est bien présente au sein des instances européennes, entre autres par la diplomatie pontificale et la Commission des épiscopats de la Communauté européenne (COMECE), il est clair que l’État de la Cité du Vatican, par sa nature et son système juridique, ne pourrait pas remplir les conditions juridiques et politiques nécessaires pour adhérer à l’Union européenne. Tout au plus pourrait-on imaginer la conclusion de certains accords ou conventions entre l’Union Européenne et la Cité du vatican.
