Quels sont, cependant, les éléments spécifiquement cartésiens qui distinguent cette logique de celles qui la précèdent ? Nous montrons deux des principaux aspects marquant le cartésianisme de la logique de Clauberg : d’une part, la fondation de la logique sur la perceptio clara et distincta; d’autre part, la fonction de la logique comme medicina mentis, assise sur une théorie philosophique des préjugés que Clauberg hérite des Principia philosophiae (mais aussi de Bacon). Tout étant qualifiée de nova, la logique de Clauberg reste cependant essentiellement liée à la tradition scolastique, sans accueillir les aspects les plus radicalement nouveaux de la gnoséologie cartésienne. | ||

For this reason, this text is commonly considered as the first handbook of « cartesian » logic. Which are, therefore, the Cartesian elements distinguishing this logic from the previous ones ? Our aim is to show that there are two main aspects which Clauberg derives from the works of Descartes : on the one hand the foundation of logic on the perceptio clara et distincta ; on the other the role of medicina mentis assumed by logic, on the basis of a philosophical theory of prejudices that has been derived from the Principia philosophiae (but also from Bacon). Clauberg’s logic, anyway, does not accept the most radical innovations of Cartesian theory of knowledge : in this way it is still bound up with the scholastic tradition. | ||
