520 _aThis article is the clinical account of the mother-child psychoanalytic psychotherapy, during a period of two years, of a four year old little girl, suffering from atopic dermatitis present from birth and the cause of a severe itch during her first two years, severe asthma, epilepsy and a psychomotor retardation. Psychotherapy had been sought by her parents because of relational withdrawal, loss of eye contact, regression of skills, persistence of the clinical manifestations despite medication for the atopic dermatitis, asthma and epilepsy, as well as speech and occupational therapy. After two years of psychotherapy, during which the rest of the treatment was carried on, she is very sociable, makes good eye contact, initiates role and make-believe games, draws a three-part character, knows how to write a few words and can associate ideas. She no longer suffers from any clinical manifestations regarding epilepsy and her skin is almost normal. She still receives medication for the asthma, but she can tell when she feels uncomfortable with her breathing, an indication of good perception of her bodily sensations.
