520 _aThe nature of subjective success makes it difficult to reach an agreement regarding its definition. This research focuses on perceived career success as opposed to career satisfaction. Using a sample of 362 managers, we examine the links between perceived career success (cognitive appraisal), career satisfaction (affective evaluation), objective success, and career anchors. The results show that career satisfaction acts as a mediator to the objective success and perceived success relationship. We also found that a managerial anchor moderates this mediation.
