520 _aThe place of law in the social sciences is minimized. As a field of formality and formalism, the law does not constitute an entry point for social understanding nor for determining reality. The law is a constitutive dimension of social and political reality, but it is not considered, as a framework of normativity, as contributing through its own issues to the shaping of social reality. The reflection at the heart of this contribution aims to recognize the part of law and normativity in shaping reality. The importance of the law is evaluated in terms of its role in the (re)configuration of the socio-political system, in its function as a body of social recognition, and in its function as a body of production of meaning. The reflection is conducted against the background of the particular reality of law in Morocco.
