Ses musiques, riches et variées, oscillent entre tradition et modernité, et laissent la part belle à l’air bachique alors en pleine expansion. L’analyse de documents d’archives inédits montre comment J. Dubuisson, compositeur populaire, construit son réseau professionnel sans le soutien régulier de mécènes. Les recherches entreprises proposent un éclairage nouveau sur la vie de la musique profane qui se développe à l’époque en dehors des sphères courtoises.
520			_aJacques Dubuisson is one of the three most important composers of serious and drinking airs in France: from 1686 to 1710, he published 302 airs through Christophe Ballard. His music, rich and varied, oscillates between tradition and modernity, and gives pride of place to the Bacchic air, whose popularity was then growing. The analysis of unpublished archival documents shows how Dubuisson, a composer of popular music, built his professional network without the regular support of patrons. The research undertaken sheds new light on the life of secular music, which was developing at the time outside the courtly spheres.
