520 | _aThis article revisits common approaches that tend to assign a peculiar methodological stance to legal sociology in relationship to the externality to the law. The “necessity” to take a stand on this point is put into question, as it reveals a faith in the peculiar nature of law that is harmful to a proper sociological analysis.
