520 | _aThe site today known as Sebi Ponty outside of Dakar, Senegal has twice hosted large-scale educational initiatives, L’École William Ponty and, more recently, L’Université du Futur africain. Both were designed to spur increased economic development and both fell short on their promise, leaving behind a dilapidated infrastructure. Excavating the utopian Afro-futures by which these projects were envisioned and the Afro-nostalgias they have generated, we discern a palimpsest of temporalities in Sebi Ponty. | ||
