520 _aRFID (Radio Frequency Identification) has developed dramatically in recent years. However, despite the many advantages offered by this technology (real-time visibility of stocks, reduction of logistics costs, increased productivity, better traceability, reduction of stockouts in stores, etc.), its deployment among the major French food retailers remains limited. The objective of this exploratory paper is to identify all the obstacles hindering the use of this information technology in the logistical relations between manufacturers and large food retailers. To do this, we adopt a qualitative methodology based on semi-structured interviews. The results show that the non-adoption of RFID is mainly explained by the cost of this technology for the actors.
