Ils constituent donc des « techniques de soi » (Foucault). Afin de faire apparaître l’indicible sur scène, l’acteur doit préparer son corps par une pratique particulière, par exemple celle d’un art martial. Le metteur en scène russe A. Vassiliev a choisi le wu shu pour construire un « acteur transparent » au service d’un théâtre métaphysique. Ainsi, la pratique martiale fournit à l’acteur à la fois une technique automédiale et une voie pour incarner l’indicible sur scène.
