520 | _aThe creation of social mediation jobs within the framework of the ‘Nouveaux services – emplois-jeunes’ (‘New Services – Jobs for Young People’) programme is one of the chapters of the history of measures to combat unemployment of young people. However, unemployment remains a pressing issue and it is useful to learn the lessons from this recent programme in order to avoid repeating the perverse effects of certain ideological orientations that were not reflected upon, and that discriminated against the men and even more so against the women who benefited from these subsidised contracts. Indeed, the use of age-based categories has contributed to obscure gender relations. | ||
