This quest for fusion with an improbable archaic object fuels the writer’s passion, but is not without clear links with the mortifying excesses of Marguerite Duras’s use of alcohol. The creative act, transforming fantasy into a transmissible work of literature, triggers an emotion in the reader which allows such passion to be shared, in the light of sublimation. The author of this article analyses the clinical case of Duras to set forward a definition of passion which is no longer an expression of servitude and sickness of the soul, but rather that of a desire for the absolute offering us a glimpse of the divine in humankind. | ||
