520 | _aThe seminaries that make up the hozeh of the holy city of Qom train clerics in ways that have changed since the revolution: a policy of bureaucratization, centralization and state control has hastened their modernization. A qualitative survey carried out among students and teachers reveals their motivations for engaging in this religious formation, describes their daily rhythm of life and shows the conditions and challenges of the profession they are already exercising, in parallel with their studies. New modes of preaching, the use of the Internet and satellite channels are discussed. A final point on their behavior in married life ends up delineating a landscape with two poles, one traditional and the other reformist, and a new type of cleric, the bureaucrat. | ||
