520 _aDuring WWII, Switzerland feared experiencing once again the internal divisions and social unrest that disrupted it during the Great War. Encircled and threatened by the Axis forces, targeted by foreign propaganda, it reinforced its military defences. Psychological action too was far from being neglected. Conducted under the name of “spiritual defence,” it triggered campaigns of conferences focusing on various themes from Swiss unity to social issues.
