520 _aOur investigation bears upon the nature of the risk involved in sports competitions. Because desire is at stake and satisfaction is possible, risks necessarily emerge. The first one, highly specular, concerns the imaginary fear of a narcissistic damage in case of defeat. A second one relates to the symbolic and concerns the essence of the subject and the injuries that language inflicts on them.
