Three authors discuss and problematize these notions, which are discussed in depth and specified through the use of “media,” “information,” or “digital” qualifiers. These notions are studied in relation to the place they occupy at the intersection of research and the practices of IML actors. Laëtitia Pierrot reports on the social processes by which digital practices are constructed within social groups. She considers media and digital practices as instrumented and socialized actions, and she analyzes the digital footprints of high school students to demonstrate her argument. Camille Tilleul questions media practices in terms of the relationships they hold with the skills they evoke or develop. She focuses on the diversity of media practices as a contributing factor to the development of the skills that define media literacy. Lastly, Adeline Entraygues studies the relationship between young peoples’ information practices and information culture. Her work aims to distinguish prescribed practices from the informal practices that young people engage in on digital social networks. | ||
