520 _aTwenty years after his first interview with Gérard Blanchard was published in Communication & langages, Franck Jalleau’s current interview is a tribute to a man he first met during his student days at the Scriptorium in Toulouse. A founding member of ANCT in 1985 along with José Mendoza and Ladislas Mandel, Gérard Blanchard also supported Franck Jalleau in setting up the DSAA in Typography at the École Estienne in 1993. In this interview, Franck Jalleau discusses his memories of personal encounters, his career choices (stone cutting) and the development of a teaching approach focused on formal research, observation, and sensitivity.
