| 520 | _aFor more than 40 years now, the Association pour l'histoire de l'électricité en France (AHEF), founded in 1982, and then, from 2001, the Comittee for the history of electricity and energy (CHEE), have played a crucial role in developing a cross-disciplinary field of research, first in the history of electricity and then more broadly in the history of energy in France, but also on an international scale, particularly in Europe and North America. Supported by the integrated national public enterprise EDF, and today within the framework of the EDF Group Foundation, this research has resulted in a large and diversified body of publications, a three-volume Histoire générale de l'électricité en France, numerous books and conference proceedings and a journal that has become the Journal of Energy History / Revue d'histoire de l'énergie (JEHRHE), with an international audience, particularly in the English-speaking world. This drive to broaden the scientific field from electricity to energy has contributed to major areas of research, focusing on international aspects, the industrial system of electricity, relations between energies, and the environment, with both numerous contributions and limitations. The collective book project Une nouvelle histoire de l'électrification en France et en Europe de la fin du XIXe au cœur du XXIe siècle. Dans la fabrique de la transition énergétique, to be published in 2026, is currently fuelling this research agenda. | ||
