520 _aThis article examines how French institutions involved in shaping public debate endorse a prohibitionist feminist perspective that frames pornography as a form of gender-based violence to be eliminated. It begins by tracing the emergence of an anti-pornography coalition situated at the intersection of journalism, politics, and civil society, in the wake of the #MeToo movement. The article then analyzes the rhetorical and narrative strategies of generalization that portray pornography as a whole as intrinsically violent. Finally, it demonstrates how the institutionalization of this discourse marginalizes the voices of sex workers and obscures contributions from legal and social science research on regulation issues.
