520 _a‪Until today, television remains a neglected vehicle to foster internationalisation in education, despite its early history at the European level. The International Seminar for School Television Producers was founded in Basel in 1962 under the auspices of the European Broadcasting Union. Described as the ‘UN of school television’, this week-long seminar is held annually. It provides television producers and teachers from both Eastern and Western countries the opportunity to learn about teaching methodologies and television techniques. This article examines the primary educational models and paradigms underpinning this initiative, as well as the modalities of international cooperation. It also aims to analyse the more specific role of television in reconfiguring educational practices and its influence on theoretical renewal in the field of education. Furthermore, this article investigates the various stakeholders involved in this process. Who are the filmmakers and members of the educational community engaged in these activities? What role does an organisation such as the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation play in this process, and what impact was anticipated on the television and education sectors? Finally, this contribution seeks to summarise the effects of this relatively unprecedented experiment, both in terms of education and from a televisual perspective.‪
