520 _aAs part of the project to drive a general shift in literature and art, interventionist criticism has already achieved some not inconsiderable results: improvement of works and authors, displacement of the latter to other eras, reassignment of texts, reinvestigations of cold cases and the list goes on. There is, however, one area that has been somewhat neglected: translation. This is all the more regrettable since every translator, by definition, intervenes at some level in the text they are endeavouring to transpose into another culture. My aim in this article, therefore, is to provide a few pointers to help bridge this gap, while highlighting the vast amount of work that remains to be undertaken in this field.
