520			_aInnovation, long associated with progress, is now the subject of criticism due to its inability to fully address major societal challenges. This text proposes a renewed reflection focused on the societal and transformative dimension of innovation, questioning its purposes, its processes, and the public policies that support it. Drawing on the work carried out by the cooperative Ellyx, it examines the dynamics of social innovation in France. The analysis highlights the weak connection between grassroots initiatives and the traditional innovation ecosystem, structured around technology and the market. In response, new frameworks are emerging, such as disruptive social innovation, social research & development, and the Societal Readiness Level scale, which emphasize the central role of actors operating on the margins of the innovation ecosystem. These approaches contribute to shaping new interactions and fostering the emergence of collective capacities better suited to contemporary challenges.
520			_aL’innovation, longtemps associée au progrès, fait aujourd’hui l’objet de critiques en raison de son incapacité à répondre pleinement aux grands enjeux sociétaux. Ce texte propose une réflexion renouvelée centrée sur la dimension sociétale et transformatrice de l’innovation, en interrogeant ses finalités, ses processus et les politiques publiques qui la soutiennent. S’appuyant sur les travaux menés par la coopérative Ellyx, il examine les dynamiques de l’innovation sociale en France. L’analyse met en lumière la faible articulation entre les porteurs de démarches et l’écosystème traditionnel de l’innovation, structurés autour de la technologie et du marché. En réponse, de nouveaux référentiels émergent, tels que l’innovation sociale de rupture, la recherche et le développement social et l’échelle Societal Readiness Level, permettant de mettre en lumière le rôle central d’acteurs opérant aux marges de l’écosystème d’innovation. Ces approches contribuent à façonner de nouvelles interactions et l’émergence de capacités collectives mieux adaptées aux défis contemporains.
