| 520 | _aThis Study analyses the educational pathway of students with disabilities (SWDs) in higher education in Quebec. Although the support measures put in place to ensure their academic success and perseverance at various levels of education have had undeniable effects, the results show that these students are much less likely to obtain a higher education diploma at both the Cégep [College of General and Vocational Education] and university level. The analysis shows that two factors associated with their prior education (primary and secondary) hinder their pathway towards higher education. Firstly, they are more at risk of falling behind academically and having to repeat a year to catch. Secondly, few of them have the opportunity to attend private schools or an enriched class in a public secondary school, both of which are favourable conditions not only for access to higher education, but also for academic success. | ||
