520 _aAims Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) in emergency medicine is an essential skill recommended by the Société française de médecine d’urgence (French Society of Emergency Medicine) and accessible through both brief and comprehensive training programs to develop expertise. The objectives of this study were to identify university and inter-university diplomas (DU/DIUs) in POCUS in France in 2024, to establish a national mapping, and to analyze their characteristics. Procedure A declarative survey including DU/DIUs dedicated to emergency physicians was conducted. Recruitment was systematic: Universities were identified by geographical sector, followed by checking of DU/DIU availability (through online queries, administrative contacts, and consultations with emergency medicine academics). An online questionnaire was then distributed. Results Among the 41 universities identified, 10 POCUS DU/DIUs were identified and analyzed (7 DUs, 3 DIUs), in 30 universities. 80% of the diplomas were established for more than 5 years. The instructors were primarily emergency physicians (9/10, 90%), with a median number of 25 [20–50] accepted students and a median duration of 8 [5–9] days yearly. The curriculum consisted of theoretical (10 DU/DIUs) and practical courses (9 DU/DIUs; medium- or high-fidelity simulation), a clinical round (100%), and a theoretical and practical assessment (100%), covering all POCUS educational objectives, with specific variations for each DU/DIU. Conclusion While continuing medical education in emergency medicine POCUS is available throughout France via university programs, there is an uneven geographical distribution. Inter-university collaborations could enhance the accessibility of these training programs.
