245 0 0 _aThe Work of the Collective in Addressing Early Suffering: Creating a Common Environment

520 _aThis article, the fruit of a reflection on the social implications of the erosion of interpersonal bonds and the disregard of the unique suffering the of minorities, examines the repercussions of these transformations on mental health policies through the current state of practice in the field of early childhood distress clinics, in which children are often excluded from the social system and their distress goes untreated. The collective creation of the “common” is presented as a response to this type of suffering, and encourages the development of new institutional arrangements where collective work and the analysis of transferential constellations create spaces for sharing and recognition of the subject’s singularity. Based on a clinical vignette, the article presents an institution in Chile and the collective work that made it possible to deal with the early trauma of a child in a situation of extreme vulnerability.
