520 _aThis conceptual paper provides a theoretical framework for an emergent research trajectory that stems from the shared knowledge base of digital transformation and knowledge management theories. Through a narrative literature review, we propose a predictive theoretical model for empirical investigation, designed to guide a successful journey through digital transformation. In response to the recently emerging business needs associated with digital transformation, we elucidate the theoretical underpinnings and formulate research propositions. These are intended to generate practical knowledge with regard to the influence of digital business strategy on innovation performance. This influence is mediated by the digital platform capability within a knowledge management-operated context, which is predetermined by knowledge strategy and absorptive capacity. The theoretical and practical significance of this model resides in its potential to guide organizations in devising effective business strategies and cultivating essential dynamic capabilities. These are required to secure sustainable competitive advantages in the digital economy. JEL Codes: L1, L2, O3
