520			_aDans cet article, nous reconstruisons le dernier travail de Walter Benjamin, le Livre des passages, comme celui d’un « chiffonnier ». Nous allons ainsi contre le courant qui consiste à considérer cette somme comme un livre achevé, écrit par un « flâneur » ambigu, et l’appréhendons au contraire comme une collecte systématique de rebuts de l’histoire, habituellement ignorés par les historiens, et qui attendent leur classement. La forme définitive doit venir d’une nouvelle dialectique du passé et du présent, qui part de la position historique et politique de Benjamin. Le Livre des passages documente une méthode et une technique d’écriture que nous pouvons reprendre aujourd’hui.
520			_aIn this article, I reconstruct Walter Benjamin’s last work, The Arcades Project, as the work of a “ragpicker”. I thus go against the trend of treating this as a finished book, written by an ambiguous “flâneur”, proposing instead to approach it as a systematic collection of scraps of history, habitually underrated by historians, waiting for their classification. The definitive form has to come from a new dialectic of past and present, which starts from Benjamin’s historical and political position. The Arcades Project documents a method and a technique of writing that we can still take up again today.
