Levinas prit lui aussi position dans un article bref, mais retentissant. Il y évoque la réflexion de Simone Weil en son entier, mais sur la base d’un seul point d’appui, sa lecture de la Bible, laquelle éclaire en partie une interprétation violente et injuste du judaïsme biblique. Ici la critique de Levinas n’empêche pas l’admiration. Et cette étude n’est pas le dernier mot du dialogue entre les deux philosophes.

Levinas’s critique doesn’t prevent his admiration. Moreover, the study is not the last word of the dialogue between the two philosophers.
