520 _aThe year 2020 marked a historical landmark for Information and Communication Sciences: twenty years previously, in 2000, the concept of an “information society” was established to designate a new form of contemporary global capitalism. Adopting a historical perspective, this article analyzes the “information society” as the totality of mediations which, driven by a techno-informational logic, adjusted capital-labor and economy-culture relations. Starting from discussion of the Brazilian context, we explore these mediations in their relationship to information from a broad perspective.
