520			_aRésuméCet article cherche à analyser la mission du Centre africain de formation et de recherche administratives pour le développement (CAFRAD). Nous y donnons un aperçu des activités dans les domaines de la formation, de la recherche, de la consultation, de l’information et de la publication, examinons les réalisations et soulignons les difficultés rencontrées par le CAFRAD dans la mise en œuvre de ses travaux. Nous concluons l’article en évoquant la voie à suivre et les perspectives possibles pour un CAFRAD plus efficace et plus fort au 21ème siècle, capable de contribuer efficacement à l’amélioration de l’administration publique africaine.

It presents an overview of the Centre’s activities in training, research, consultancy, information and publication, assesses its achievements and highlights the constraints which CAFRAD faced in the implementation of its work. The article concludes with the way forward and prospects for a better and stronger CAFRAD in the 21st century, one which will contribute effectively to the improvement of African public administration.
