Le caractère pluraliste de la postmodernité, qui est le berceau global aussi bien des théologies africaines que des théologies occidentales, pose un nouveau défi aux théologies africaines : elles doivent entrer en conversation les unes avec les autres, mais aussi avec le pluralisme de leurs propres sociétés. Le pluralisme conversationnel de David Tracy semble ouvrir une route féconde aux théologies africaines.
