| 520 | _aRésuméDans le cadre d’une recherche universitaire pluridisciplinaire, l’étude porte sur les difficultés soulevées par la théorie de l’évolution. L’A. montre comment les refus des fondamentalistes et des matérialistes reposent sur le même socle : placer Dieu en situation de rivalité avec la nature. Il montre aussi comment la théologie naturelle, en plein essor actuellement dans le monde anglo-saxon, ne se laisse pas réduire aux simplismes du courant dit Intelligent Design qui utilise la référence à Dieu pour pallier les ignorances de la science. Il propose enfin de voir comment la tradition théologique (celle de saint Thomas d’Aquin) permet de surmonter les fausses oppositions en articulant harmonieusement action de Dieu et nature. La notion de création est alors mise en place de manière stricte. | ||

Discerning between causality and finalityWithin the framework of a pluridisciplinary university research, this study focuses on the difficulties raised by the theory of evolution. It demonstrates the way in which the fundamentalist and materialist denials are based on the same premise : situating God in rivalry with Nature. It also shows how natural theology, currently in full bloom in the anglo-saxon world, cannot be reduced to the oversimplification that is “Intelligent Design”, which appeals to God in order to compensate for Science’s ignorance. Finally, it aims to show how the theological tradition (of Thomas Aquinas, specifically) helps overcome false antagonisms by harmoniously articulating God’s action and Nature. The notion of creation is thus in a strict sense established. | ||
