520			_aRésumé A la fin du XIXe siècle, Vichy, « Reine des villes d’eaux » abandonne progressivement sa première fonction thérapeutique au profit d’une orientation plus touristique. Au prix d’importantes transformations en matière d’aménagements, la station thermale offre à sa clientèle une villégiature dorée, à la campagne. Parmi les nombreuses distractions, les sports animent les journées et rythment les saisons d’été. Toutefois, cette offre sportive soulève quelques résistances et oppositions. Le corps médical de la station manifeste, en effet, de sérieuses réticences face à la diffusion de ces nouvelles pratiques.
520			_aAbstract At the end of the 19th Century, Vichy, “Queen of spa towns” gradually abandoned its main therapeutic function to turn towards tourism. At the cost of major development work, the resort was able to offer its visitors a golden holiday destination in the country. Amongst other numerous activities, the days were highlighted by sporting events, particularly during the summer months. However, all these sporting opportunities were met with a certain degree of opposition. In fact, the town’s medical profession made no attempt to hide their reservations regarding the popularity of these new practises.
520			_aResumen A fines del siglo XIX, Vichy denominada la “Reina de las ciudades de aguas termales” progresivamente comienza a abandonar su función terapéutica hacia una orientación más turística. Gracias a importantes transformaciones en materia de reordenamiento, la estación termal ofrece a los clientes una ciudad dorada en el campo. Una de las numerosas distracciones son los deportes que activan las jornadas y le dan vida a los veranos. En algunas ocasiones esta oferta deportiva provoca algunas oposiciones. El cuerpo médico de la estación se manifiesta con cierta resistencia a la difusión de estas nuevas practicas.
520			_aZusammenfassung Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts gibt Vichy, “die Königin der Kurbäder”, nach und nach ihre therapeutische Hauptfunktion ab zugunsten einer Orientierung auf den Tourismus. Durch bedeutsame städtebauliche Veränderungen bietet das Thermalbad seinen Kunden eine noble Sommerfrische auf dem Lande. Zu den vielen Freizeitvergnügen gehören auch verschiedene Sportarten, welche die Tage beleben, und den sommerlichen Jahreszeiten einen Rhythmus verleihen. Dieses Sportangebot stößt jedoch auch auf Widerstand. Die Mediziner des Kurbades zeigen in der Tat eine starke Zurückhaltung hinsichtlich der Verbreitung dieser neunen Praktiken.

Il corpo medico della stazione manifesta, in effetti, serie reticenze di fronte alla diffusione di queste nuove pratiche.
