La jeunesse est aujourd’hui localisée, maintenue, dans un « hors-jeu » social, économique, politique. De multiples contradictions, en cascade et en imbrication structurent la question juvénile, dans le sens d’une illisibilité de ses termes, d’une dispersion de ses références institutionnelles. Le texte proposé ne porte pas sur la question juvénile mais sur le sens des réponses apportées à cette question, à ce « hors-jeu ». Il s’agit d’une tentative de repérage des investissements symboliques placés sur la jeunesse à travers le travail pour, avec ou contre autrui. Mais l’article montre aussi la fécondité de cet espace « hors jeu », en considérant le travail que la jeunesse effectue sur elle-même et les formes inattendues de manifestation qu’elle trouve pour en faire une question politique. | ||

Today young people are economically, politically and socially kept “out of the game”. Many intermeshed contradictions give a kind of structure to this question of “youth”, making its’ terms incomprehensible and dispersing its institutional references. The author does not attempt to respond to this “question of youth” but to analyze the meanings of responses given to it. The article attempts to identify the symbolic charge placed in youth as conceived as being for, with and against other people. The article also discusses how youth works on itself thus creating a rich and varied space “out of the game”. This “youth work” tales unexpected forms turning “youth” into a political question. | ||
