| 520 | _aRésuméAlors que les circonstances politiques le placent dans l’impossibilité matérielle de construire, le futur architecte néo-classique Karl Friedrich Schinkel réalise dans les années 1806-1813 des peintures et des transparents qui contribuent à l’invention d’une architecture nationale capable de réunir les arts et le peuple en une communauté. Nombre de ces images présentent des cathédrales réelles, hybrides ou imaginaires, de nouveaux procédés techniques concourant à leur efficacité (dimensions, éclairage, transparence, musique et figurines animées.) Elles attachent la question du néo-gothique à celle d’un nouveau régime d’historicité reliant christianisme et modernité, comme au rôle du sentiment dans la perception artistique. Elles débouchent sur les projets architecturaux néo-gothiques de Schinkel et son investissement dans les débats entourant la reconstruction de la cathédrale de Cologne. | ||
