Dans une perspective sociologique, l’objectif est de montrer comment leurs rapports à cette culture matérielle s’inscrivent dans des différences d’âge et de genre. Pour analyser ces rapports du point de vue des enfants, le dispositif méthodologique est basé sur neuf entretiens collectifs avec des enfants de 5 ans, grâce au support d’un « jeu des sept familles », un jeu de cartes spécifiquement créé pour cette enquête. Les résultats montrent comment les enfants nomment, définissent et choisissent ces objets pour marquer leur propre identité, en termes d’âge et de genre. Soulignant un écart entre les cultures sportives des filles et des garçons, l’article révèle aussi une tension entre un matériel de sport et des jouets, notamment ceux marqués par les licences (Hello Kitty et Spiderman). | ||
| 520 | _aThis research emphasises the importance of material culture for children’ sports and physical activities. Within a sociological framework, the aim is to underline how the relations between childhood and material culture are related to age and gender. Analysing these relations from children’s points of view, the empirical study is based on nine focus groups of 5-6 years’ old children, using the "game of the happy families", a card game especially designed for this research. The results show how children name, attribute and favour different characteristics of the objects closely linked with their own identities, in terms of age and gender. Showing a gap between boys and girls sports cultures, the paper enlightens also a tension between sport equipment and toys, especially those decorated with licences ( Hello Kitty and Spiderman). | ||
