520 _aPapothèques are transcultural discussion forums set up in schools with the aim of strengthening ties between the school and migrant families. Using the example of papothèques organised with parents from sub-Saharan Africa in Parisian schools, this article shows how these meetings help to overcome cultural misunderstandings, build bridges between families and schools, and create a more inclusive co-education system. By promoting languages, parental backgrounds and representations, papothèques reduce the distance between migrant families and schools, thereby promoting better support and academic success for children.
