| 520 | _aEn 2021, les “Grandes villes d’eaux d’Europe” sont entrées au patrimoine mondial de l’Unesco pour leur valeur universelle exceptionnelle. Elles sont à la source d’une riche littérature : d’illustres écrivains y ont en effet séjourné et leur ont consacré des récits fictionnels et autobiographiques. Nous nous sommes proposés d’établir un panorama historique et géographique des œuvres en français ou traduites de langues étrangères. Recensées dans des catalogues de bibliothèques, sur internet et dans des ouvrages se rapportant à notre sujet, elles constituent un corpus d’environ trois cents récits appartenant à toutes les époques, de l’Antiquité à nos jours, à de multiples courants et genres littéraires et ayant surtout pour cadre les lieux à la mode. Ces récits offrent ainsi un remarquable miroir de l’évolution du thermalisme, des villes d’eaux et de la littérature. | ||
| 520 | _aIn 2021, the great spa towns of Europe were included in the Unesco world heritage list for their exceptional universal value. They are the source of a rich literature: illustrious writers have in fact stayed there and devoted fictional and autobiographical stories to them. We wanted to establish a historical and geographical overview of works in French or translated from foreign languages. Listed in library catalogs, on the internet and in works relating to our subject, they constitute a corpus of approximately three hundred stories belonging to all periods, from Antiquity to the present day, to multiple literary trends and genres and especially taking place in fashionable places. These stories thus offer a remarkable mirror of the evolution of hydrotherapy, spa towns and literature. | ||
