| 520 | _aThis article proposes some pastoral strategies by putting into effect the message of the Second Synod for Africa, held in 2009, in relation to politics and good governance. It takes the approach of a practical theology which applies itself to translating the thought of the synod into operational ways of working for lay people called to commit themselves in the City. These are the ones who constitute the large majority of the people of God. The author supports the collective mobilisation and an effective organisation of the living forces of the Church. Starting from new sciences and experiences in conflict management, he seeks to articulate further the spiritual theology of peace developed by the Synod with non violent struggle against injustices. He concludes with concrete proposals concerning the committed support in solidarity of the clergy side by side with the laity who are working concretely to strengthen the rule of law. | ||
