Cela fait du malheur une expérience complexe où se rencontrent le psychologique, le juridique et le sociologique. Problème de société : la société moderne le traite de façon ambiguë en termes de risque, de prévention, d’assurance et de revendication. Affaire de justice : les tribunaux sont sommés d’évaluer la souffrance et de permettre le deuil. Les victimes sont à la recherche d’un sens qui leur échappe, auquel chacun se dérobe en clivant responsabilité et culpabilité, droit et subjectivité.
