520			_aRésuméL’expression « paysage urbain » tend à se répandre assez largement aujourd’hui, sans renvoyer cependant à des objets clairement identifiés. Ce « défaut de référent » incite à interroger les représentations qui contribuent à donner sens à ce terme. La notion a entretenu un rapport privilégié avec la photographie, ce que nous rappelons dans un bref historique. Puis, en nous centrant sur un territoire représentatif des périphéries métropolitaines, le département du Val-de-Marne dont l’identité est difficile à saisir, nous interrogeons une série de pratiques professionnelles, artistiques et pédagogiques qui engagent le regard photographique. Ces différentes expériences témoignent d’une compréhension du paysage qui suppose à la fois une expérience des lieux ainsi que des formes spécifiques de médiatisation. Les approches culturalistes du paysage trouvent ici confirmation. La saisie de l’acte photographique conduit à interroger le lien privilégié entre traversée du territoire et photographie.
520			_aThe term urban landscape, widely used today, does not refer to clearly defined objects. Such a lack of “reference” leads us to question the representations from which one could define this concept. The concept has maintained a privileged relationship with photography, a question we will address in a short history. We will focus then on the southern district of the Val-de-Marne, an area representative of metropolitan outskirts the identity of which is not well defined and examine a series of professional, artistic and pedagogical practices involving the photographic eye. These various attempts to picture the metropolitan territory show how the understanding of the landscape relies on the experience of places as well as specific forms of media. Therefore cultural theories of landscape are confirmed. In addition, interpreting the photographic act leads us to question the privileged relationship between crossing a territory and photography.
520			_aZusammenfassungDer Ausdruck „städtische Landschaft“ ist heute weit verbreitet, wenngleich nicht klar ist, was genau darunter zu verstehen ist. Diese „definitorische Herausforderung“ lädt dazu ein, sich mit denjenigen Termini zu befassen, die mit dem Ausdruck „städtische Landschaft“ verbunden werden. Beispielsweise gibt es eine enge Beziehung zur Photographie, der sich dieser Artikel in einem kurzen historischen Abriss widmet. Anhand des Beispiels Val-de-Marne, eines „städtischen Gebietes“ im Pariser Umland, werden verschiedene berufliche, künstlerische und pädagogische Arten zu fotografieren untersucht. Diese ergeben ein Landschaftsverständnis, das sowohl auf Erfahrungen vor Ort als auch auf spezifische Formen der Mediation zurückgreift ; und somit das kulturalistische Landschaftsverständnis bestätigt. Das Fotografieren ermöglicht es die besondere Beziehung zwischen der durchquerten Landschaft und dem Bild von ihr zu hinterfragen.
