An alternative to the ambiguous notion of “intangible heritage”, widely circulated in the anthropological world which tends to blur the analysis, this concept is related to the notion of “civilization and its discontents” as proposed by Freud.

Das Konzept soll ebenfalls eine Alternative zum Konzept des „immateriellen Kulturerbes“sein. Dieses ist zwar in weiten Kreisen der Anthropologie akzeptiert, betont aber zu sehr die freudsche Kategorie des Unbehagens in der Zivilisation.
