Il a en particulier pour objectif de discuter l’hypothèse, défendue par le gouvernement tibétain en exil, selon laquelle les camps de réfugiés tibétains en Inde, véritables microcosmes du Tibet, auraient aidé les réfugiés à recréer un sentiment d’appartenance proprement tibétain. Le système des camps de réfugiés a-t-il véritablement permis à la communauté tibétaine de l’exil de développer un « vouloir vivre ensemble » ? Et, surtout, est-il encore adapté aujourd’hui ? Les questions abordées portent sur les rapports que les réfugiés tibétains entretiennent depuis cinquante ans avec la société indienne, rapports qui oscillent entre volonté d’isolement et besoin d’intégration. | ||
| 520 | _aThis article examines the successes, doubts and future prospects of the Tibetan Diaspora in India. It discusses in particular the Tibetan government in exile’s assumption that Tibetan refugee settlements in India have worked towards recreating a sense of belonging for the exiled Tibetan community – they are therefore often regarded as real microcosms of Tibet. But did the refugee settlement system at all help the Tibetan community to develop a strong willingness to live together as a (national) community? And does it still work that way today? Questions in this article pertain to the relationship Tibetan refugees have had for over fifty years now with Indian society at large – should they live isolated in refugee settlements or further integrate within Indian society? | ||
