520 _aDrawing on field research conducted in a jurisdiction, this article examines the principles of structuring and differentiating the collective work environment of court clerks. Depending on the type of service occupied, the representations and boundaries of this collective, as well as the actual relationships with colleagues, vary. A contextualized study of the relationships between the court clerks and the judiciary is then proposed. These relationships engage the identity and unity of the court clerk’s collective work environment, rather than mechanically reaffirming them, and thus serve as a basis for differentiated positioning among the clerks.
