520			_aCette contribution s’intéresse à la Responce pour l’Histoire (1585), texte de Lancelot Voisin de La Popelinière (1541-1608) qui, quatre ans après la condamnation de l’auteur par le synode des églises réformées de La Rochelle, vise à défendre l’historien. Notre analyse porte sur les stratégies de défense mises en place par La Popelinière : autorités des textes, réception, droit à l’erreur et danger du jugement de l’histoire par une autorité religieuse. Cette étude de cas illustre le rapport de l’auteur face au présent et face à la nouveauté des pratiques historiques.
520			_aThis contribution focuses on the Responce pour l’Histoire (1585), a text written by the Reformed historian Lancelot Voisin de La Popelinière (1541-1608) and whose aims are to defend the historian’s Histoire de France, four years after the condemnation of this work by the synod of Reformed churches in La Rochelle. Our analysis explores the architecture of La Popelinière’s defense between textual authority and reception, the rhetoric of the right to err and the danger there is in allowing a religious authority to judge history. In brief, this case study exemplifies the way the author addresses his present and contributes to the renewal of historical practices.
