520 _aIntroductionHome care services (HCS) are a form of full-time hospitalization in which a patient’s care takes place at home. This alternative to standard hospitalization facilitates adapted care. HCS following an emergency department visit has been little studied. The main aim of this study was to describe the characteristics of patients readmitted within 30 days, following discharge to HCS after an emergency department visit. The secondary aims were to describe readmission modalities and patient mortality within 30 days.MethodsThis was a retrospective, monocentric study regarding patients discharged to HCS between November 1, 2021 and May 1, 2022. Data were collected on patients’ electronic medical files.ResultsOf the 144 patients analyzed, 23 (16%) were readmitted to hospital within 30 days. Readmitted patients were younger, (75 vs 84; p -1; p ConclusionThe readmission rate for HCS following an emergency department visit was low, comparable with that of standard hospitalization.
