520 _aIntroduction: Patients followed for Crohn’s disease (CD), although in remission, complain of a deterioration of their quality of life. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of hypnosis on their quality of life. Patients and methods: After randomization, we offered the “Hypnosis” group 8 collective sessions. Patients were followed up and compared with a control group to evaluate the improvement of several parameters with different questionnaires, heart rate variability measures, and clinical and biological data. Results: This intermediate analysis concerns 21 patients. It seems that there is no effect of hypnosis on improvement of quality of life in the medium term: only 3 patients were improved, 2 of whom were from the “Control” group. However, there appears to be an effect of hypnosis on short-term quality of life improvement: 4 “Hypnosis” versus 2 “Control” patients. psti Also, 3 “Control” patients saw their clinical symptoms worsen, compared to 1 “Hypnosis” patient. Patients in the “Hypnosis” group did improve their acceptability and the perceived benefits of the disease but did not improve their sense of helplessness in the face of the disease. “Hypnosis” patients improved their physiological stress in the medium term. Conclusion: In this intermediate analysis, our results are encouraging as they support an effect of hypnosis on short-term quality of life, clinical symptoms, acceptability of the disease, perception of benefits from the disease, and physiological stress. We are waiting for the final results to propose a standardized hypnosis protocol to our patients followed for CD.
